L'art est le miroir de la passion. Gail Descoeurs exprime son amour pour la vie à travers ses peintures. À un très jeune âge, elle fut influencée par son père, Jean-Guy Descoeurs, artiste-peintre, avec qui elle passa une grande partie de son enfance à dessiner à ses côtés. En 1980 elle s'accapara du trépied et des peintures de son père et se mit à peindre. À partir de ce moment elle découvrit sa passion pour les arts.
Depuis sa tendre enfance, Gail fut toujours en contact avec la nature et on la retrouvait souvent à marcher, jouer, courir ou bien dessiner dans la forêt et dans les champs ou elle pouvait se ressourcer. La nature l’a toujours grandement inspirée. Lorsqu'elle peint dans son atelier, elle utilise des scènes qu'elle a elle-même photographiées, amalgamées à quelques uns de ses rêves, ses souvenirs et imagination, guidées par son cœur et ses états d'âme pour produire des paysages panoramiques, riches en couleur et dramatiques. La luminosité changeante de la journée vient créer ou changer l’atmosphère des paysages qu'elle peint. Elle met tout de côté pour aller capturer ces changements de la journée avec sa caméra et est particulièrement réputée pour aller capturer des images de ciels orageux qui lui donnent les effets recherchés. Autant les toiles de Gail sont riches en couleur et dramatiques autant elles reflètent sa personnalité calme et sereine. Elle aime peindre des paysages où elle peut s'y évader et où l'admirateur souhaiterait y en faire part.
Au tout début de sa carrière en tant qu'artiste, elle gagnait sa vie en travaillant comme dessinatrice mécanique tout en gardant le rêve qu'un jour elle peindrait à temps plein. Durant le années 90, elle a commencé à vendre ses toiles et faire des expositions avec diverses associations et a participé à des concours où elle s'est fait connaître en tant qu'artiste-peintre. Ses toiles sont souvent vendues dès qu'elles sont terminées et parfois même avant. En 2002, à la demande de plusieurs, elle a décidé d'enseigner et elle découvrit qu'autant elle est passionnée de s'exprimer sur une toile, autant elle est passionnée de partager son amour de la peinture avec ses étudiants. Aujourd'hui, Gail vit son rêve; elle a emménagé un atelier chez elle et elle peint à temps plein. À tous les jours, nous pouvons la retrouver chez elle entrain de peindre, enseigner ou tout simplement méditer. Dans sa maison entourée de champs et de forêts, elle se sent sereine et inspirée. Le peintre et sa toile… ne font qu'un.
